    Poetry and eau-de-vie: I once hoarded BLAST 1, BLAST 2 (War Number), and many of the other Black Sparrow reprints, and now only hold on to the story collection The Wild Body. It’s caggy, aggressive, militant humor set in Bretagne, and draws out oblique associations: I never sip calvados without thinking of it.
