in pursuit of the juiciest wine: day sixteen (redux)

Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha 2007

To youth!

I’m so sad the Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha 2004 did not stand up to time and was poured down the drain. Sigh. I waited too long.

But, carpe diem, baby. Carpe diem.

This one, the Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha 2007, smells right. Lighter, brighter, and alive with vanilla bean and a trace of black pepper. The girlfriend’s nose gets orange and cloves, as well. The orange seems faint to me, but I can now smell the cloves.

It’s equally as dark as the 2004, and it has a slightly thicker meniscus.

This one will taste good. I declare it so. Time without end.

Kool-Aid ManAs the Kool-Aid man says, “Oh, yeaahh!” Juicy in the front of the mouth, and a spicy finish. There are juicy plums and raspberries and some chocolate. It makes me think of romantic dates and falling in love.

This is certainly a terrific wine. Borsao Tres Picos Garnachas are always wonderful until Time and mutability appear and deprive it of youth, juiciness, and smiles.

The Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha 2007 is a joy.//
