in pursuit of the juiciest wine: day forty-eight

Holy cow, it’s midnight, and I’m just starting the wine tasting. But it’s okay because it’s the beginning of a long weekend. Yay!

InceptionTo kick off the long weekend, my girlfriend and I saw Inception at Imax. It was a pretty good movie. It was interesting and unique and often predictable, but I got lost in it, so that’s good. I do wish it was more dreamy and surreal. It started to be, but then it drifted away from it except for a couple of cool fight scenes.

I do think the writers weasled their way out a bit at the end. I could see the ending coming by the way it was written. They couldn’t find a way out. But the ambiguous ending was fun. It was a good movie.

Murphy-Goode Cabernet Sauvignon 2007It needs to be seen on the big screen, as most movies do. So much is lost when just watching it on DVD on your tv. Nonetheless, I’ll watch it again on DVD.

Anyway.

I hope I get lost in the Murphy-Goode Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 from Santa Rosa, CA. That’s right the Californian Cabernet Sauvignon mini tour is now the Californian Cabernet Sauvignon extended mini tour.

This is one has a dark ruby color that is 90 percent opaque. It comes with a fruity nose followed by pepper. I get currants and pomegranates, too. There might be also some melon in there.

It’s quite peppery. I get dark cherries and  mountain blackberries.

The finish is peppery and at the end are pomegranates. My girlfriend picked up on that pomegranate finish, and I concur.

It’s a good wine. Not great. It just is. Let’s say 88 points.//
